It is becoming difficult to reach Mahama – Asiedu Nketia

General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has dismissed perceptions that there is a stray relationship between the party’s leader, President John Dramani Mahama, and some of its leading members including Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, the party’s Member of Parliament for Nadowli Kaleo Constituency.

“There is a cordial relationship between members of the party and His Excellency John Dramani Mahama,” he said on TV3’s Hot Issues on Saturday, when he was asked by host Kwesi Pratt Junior about the relationship between the two.

Mr Nketia, popularly known as General Mosquito, was, however, quick to admit that: “There are challenges of managing that relationship.”

He explained that it is becoming difficult for some members of the party to "reach" the president as a result of the people around him, the same point made by Mr Bagbin last month.

According to the Former Majority Leader, by surrounding himself with some persons, the president is rather “naked”.

But General Mosquito maintained the leadership of the party is working hard at bridging the gap of communication between the president and the party.
