I will abide by the Supreme Court's ruling - Mahama

President John Mahama has assured the nation that he will accept whatever verdict the Supreme Court issues with regards to the Presidential Election Petition currently before it.

He made the announcement on Tuesday during a meeting with the Eastern Region House of Chiefs at the seat of government, the Flagstaff House.

Okyenhene Osagyefo Amoatia Oforipanin, President of the Eastern Region House of Chiefs, called on all parties to accept the Supreme Court’s verdict.

He also appealed to political party leaders to call their supporters to order and to restrain them from insulting their political opponents.

Joy News’ Presidential correspondent, Seth Kwame Boateng, reported the President as saying that he will abide by the ruling of the Supreme Court and pledging to rein in party supporters who insult the opposition New Patriotic Party.

He challenged the chiefs and other stakeholders to name and shame party leaders who subject their opponents, including himself, to needless insults.

The President will also be meeting with the chiefs of the Northern Region.
