Renowned media personality Afia Pokua, known within the media space as Vim Lady, has backed calls by the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) for an audit of the voters’ register but described the nationwide demonstration as needless.

Vim Lady made this comment during her political show, “Egyaso Gyaso,” monitored by MyNewsGh.com, where she stated that the staged demonstration and the calling out of the Electoral Commission by the NDC were needless.

She stated that the right step which should have been taken by the opposition party was to sit down with the commission and deal with the issue directly.

“I support the NDC call for an audit of the voters’ register, but the demonstration and constant attack on the EC were needless. Sit down with the EC and solve the issue at IPAC. The NDC has made the EC leave important work that they are supposed to do to play defense tactics,” she disclosed.

According to Vim Lady, the NDC party needs to know about the claims that about 15,000 voters have been captured on the EC’s transfer list with an indication as to where they were transferred from.

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) is preparing to hit the streets today, September 17, 2024, as they demand a forensic audit of the voters' register from the Electoral Commission.
