Ahafo-Ano North immunises 13,742 children

Tepa (Ash), Nov 2, GNA - About 13,742 children representing 108.5 percent were immunised during the three-day polio immunisation exercise in the Ahafo-Ano North district.

Mr Mathew Adu Bobi, District Disease Control Officer, who disclosed this to the Ghana News Agency at Tepa on Friday, said by this figure, the district had exceeded its target of 12,654 by 1,088.

He said 120 trained community based surveillance volunteers and 22 health workers were involved in the exercise.

He commended the Ahafo-Ano North District assembly for providing funds and vehicles for the exercise and the volunteers and the health workers for their dedication and commitment. The second phase of the programme will come off between December 5 and 7.
