I’m not the richest politician in Ghana - Addo Kufuor breaks silence

Former Defense Minister of state under the erstwhile John Agyekum Kufuor administration, Dr. Kwame Addo Kufuor has challenged anyone with information about his offshore bank accounts and local bank balances to disclose the full details to the public.

The former Defense Minister and a younger brother of the former President is reported to be the richest politician in Ghana with loads of cash stashed in various accounts locally and internationally.

But speaking on the issue for the first time and ahead of the 60th Independence Day on Kumasi-based Nhyira Fm, he dispelled the rumor and challenged those behind such information to produce evidence to the public to buttress such claims.

“I dare those who are saying that I have bagged such amount in my foreign accounts to come with evidence. ….If it turns out to be true, I will give one third to that person and the rest to Ghana”, he told the host

Dr. Addo Kufuor believes those behind such publications have an agenda against his person and in the pursuit of their clandestine agenda are going about making such unsubstantiated claims.

According to him, it will be an indictment on his person and relations to steal state money at the expense of the poor citizenry and divert such ill-gotten cash into his personal accounts.

He charged Ghanaians to support the new government of President Nana Akufo-Addo and reposed confidence in him in order to better their lives as promised during the campaigning period.
