Eric Kwadwo Baidoo has denied claims he is seeking contest the Assin Central Parliamentary seat as an independent candidate as has been reported by a section of the media.

He told MyNewsGh.com in an exclusive interview that such an intention has not crossed his mind wondering where that information came from after news went viral that he has been disqualified from contesting in the area.

According to an official of the vetting committee who spoke to MyNewsGh.com, he was disqualified for three major reasons: that he is unknown to the party, he fueled a demonstration against the party and that he has flouted the rules of the party.

The disappointed and enraged parliamentary aspirant hopeful, however, suspects that his disqualification was fueled by a vow by Hon. Kennedy Agyapong that he would ensure that he does not get to contest in the primaries.

He has since confirmed to this portal that he intends appealing the decision but vehemently denied claims he will be contesting as an independent candidate as was said by some of his supporters on a local radio station in Kumasi

“Their views cannot represent mine”, he stated.

Asked when he is set to file the appeal, he promised to submit it by close of today March 12, 2020.
