CPP Stalwart James Kwabena Bomfeh has lashed out at Ex-President Jerry John Rawlings for his role in the June 4th Revolution.

Speaking to host Nana Yaw Kesse on Peace FM's 'Kokrokoo', James Kwabena Bomfeh, also called Kabila, stated categorically that Ex-President Rawlings is the reason for Ghana's woes.

According to him, he played significant roles in the various coup d’états that happened in Ghana and so has no moral right to celebrate June 4th.

Kabila alluded to some instances of coup from 1966 to December 31st, 1981 and wondered why Ghanaians would support Mr. Rawlings to commemorate June 4th in the nation.

“We’re hypocrites. And if I see any believer in democracy, the rule of law, constitutionalism, partake in that exercise; what you’re doing is nothing. You’re insulting your own very principle," he said.

He further lambasted Mr. Rawlings for exempting himself from any sanctions by instituting the indemnity clause in the 1992 constitution, after staging several coup d’états and "killing" people.

To him, the 1992 Constitution was purposely made to suit Mr. Rawlings.

“The 1992 constitution was specifically made to suit one man. And all the Presidents that have come haven’t had the courage to change it because it does appear that when they get to power, they seem to enjoy it. So, we have a constitutional dictatorship under this fourth Republican constitution,” he stated.

Without mincing words, Kabila stressed that "Mr. Rawlings has no business celebrating June 4th after disgracing and turning it round on the 31st December, 1981. It’s a shame.”
