How footballers celebrated Ghana’s 63rd anniversary

A rich-cultural ceremony was held at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium to mark 63 years of Ghana’s independence.

The colourful event had in attendance Special Guest, Dr. Keith Rowley, the Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago, as well as his royal majesty, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene.

The well attended ceremony which was on the theme ‘Consolidating Our Gain’ was also graced by traditional leaders across the country.

Over the last 63 years, football has contributed significantly to the progress of the country.

At the senior level, Ghana boast of four AFCON titles and three World Cup appearances.

Ghana is regarded as one of the best destinations for genuine football talents and the country has produced some of the finest players ever to grace the sport.

Baba Yara, Osei Kofi, Abedi Pele, Michael Essien are but a few of the many talents to have emerged from this country.

On the occasion of Ghana’s 63rd anniversary, some football personalities took to social media to celebrate the day.
