"I am ready to play on Sunday" -Kufuor

Bayern Munich defender Samuel Osei Kuffour is set to rejoin the Black Stars ending over a year's dispute with the Ghana Football Association (GFA). Ghana coach Burkhard Ziese has invited Kuffour in the team's camp in Obuasi for the crucial Nations Cup qualifier against Uganda on Sunday in Kumasi.

Kuffour has not played for Ghana since his dismissal from the last Nations Cup in Mali by the former Black Stars coach Fred Osam-Duodu.

After playing just one game in the tournament, Kuffour was expelled for allegedly infringing camp rules.

Accusations that he incited team mates to go night-clubbing sparked a bitter row between the FA and the German champion.

But after a meeting with the authorities this week, including the sport ministry, Kuffour is delighted to rejoin the side.

"There was a problem but it has been resolved and I am ready to play on Sunday," he said.

"Football is my job and I love it so I have to give my all against Uganda.

"At the end of the day, all of us realise we need a good result to qualify."

Ghana trail Uganda and Rwanda by one point in group 13, but the Black Stars have a game in hand.

Victory on Sunday will leave the four-time African champions just one point away from a seventh straight appearance at the Nations Cup.
