The Adansi chiefs, led by the President of the Traditional Council, Opagyakotwere Bonsra Afiriyie II, have performed sacred religious rites following the fatal helicopter crash that occurred on their land.
The purpose of this traditional rite was to offer sacrifice to the gods of the land to avert any further calamity that may befall any of the Adansi communities.
The ritual was performed at "Dei Boɔ," a sacred place viewed as an embodiment of the entire Adansi communities and has been preserved for centuries.
In line with tradition, a ram was slaughtered as an offering to the gods of Adansi land to help avert any future occurrence of the tragedy that had plunged the entire country into a state of mourning.

According to the chief, the victims of the helicopter crash met their untimely death while on national assignment, and therefore pleaded with the nation not to engage in "politics" with their tragic death.
The helicopter crash occurred on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, when a Z9 helicopter belonging to the Ghana Armed Forces crashed into the Sikaman Brofoyedru Forest while en route to Obuasi.

It had on board the Defence Minister, Dr Edward Omane Boamah and the Environment, Science, and Technology Minister Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed.
Others were: Acting Deputy National Security Coordinator, Alhaji Mohammed Muniru Limuna; former Ashanti Regional Minister, Samuel Sarpong; and Samuel Aboagye, a former parliamentary candidate.

They were on a mission to attend to a programme put together by the government to combat scourging illegal mining activities in the Adansi enclave as part of a nationwide clampdown.
