Private legal practitioner and the Member of Parliament for Efutu Constituency in the Central region, Alexander Afenyo Markin, has faulted the police for gunning down suspected criminal, Dogo America.

He indicates that the suspect could have been arrested without necessarily being killed questioning how sure police are he is indeed involved in high profile crimes as alleged in the area.

“His killing smacks of the lawlessness in the country. They could have easily arrested him to face the law if police had ample evidence to link him to alleged crimes”, he disclosed on Adom TV on Thursday.

The lawmaker is appealing to the security agencies not to take the laws into their own hands and determine the fate of suspected criminals by killing them indicating that such practices are not different from mob justice.

Dogo America who is a land guard and leader of a notorious criminal gang noted for terrorizing residents around Tema and its enclaves was killed in a shootout with the police on Tuesday afternoon.
