President of Group Nduom, Dr Nana Kweku Nduom has outlined the next steps for rebuilding GN Bank following the restoration of its licence after years of legal battles.
Speaking on Newsfile on May 23, 2026, Dr Nduom said the first priority would be assembling a competent leadership team to guide the institution’s revival.
According to him, Groupe Nduom intends to engage key stakeholders including the Bank of Ghana, the receiver, and other parties involved in the process.
“We need to make sure that we have a competent, experienced team in place whose values are aligned with the values of the group,” he said.
Dr Nduom explained that the second priority would focus on strengthening both the physical and technological infrastructure of the bank.
He noted that Groupe Nduom already possesses significant experience in modern banking systems, including the transition from traditional branch banking to digital banking platforms.
“We are aware of and have participated in the movement from brick-and-mortar banking to digital banking,” he stated.
The third key area, according to him, would involve rebuilding strong corporate governance systems, including effective board oversight and healthy relationships with regulators and stakeholders.
He stressed the importance of restoring public confidence and ensuring customers believe the institution is operating in their best interest.

Dr Nduom also addressed concerns about customers affected by the collapse of GN Bank, indicating that the group had been informed that most customers had already received their funds.
However, he assured that Groupe Nduom would support efforts to ensure any remaining customers are fully compensated.
“For those who haven’t been paid, if there’s anything we need to do to help ensure people are made whole, we would obviously do what we can to accelerate that,” he said.
He added that all parties involved regretted how events unfolded and expressed hope that the institution could eventually restore confidence and stability for customers, employees, and stakeholders alike.
GN Bank was one of many banks that were affected by a cleanup up of the banking sector in 2019 during the tenure of the erstwhile Akufo Addo administration.
