God will make you president – Queen mother to Akufo-Addo

The Queen Mother of Denkyira, Nana Ama Ayensua Saara III, has predicted the 2016 presidential elections will go in favour of Nana Akufo-Addo, and has called on her subjects to give him all the support.

In her belief, Nana Akufo-Addo has won every national election he has contested.

“We all know that at every election, Nana Akufo-Addo wins,” Saara III said when the New Patriotic Party flagbearer paid a courtesy call on her. However, according to her, some underhand dealings and others maneuver to collude and connive to rob him of victory.

“We are certain that this year, God will lift up Nana Akufo-Addo’s hand. We know that once Nana becomes President, he will never abandon the people of Denkyira. With one mind and heart we will support Nana Akufo-Addo and ask for God’s guidance,” she noted.

According to her, the people of Denkyira have been neglected by the John Mahama-led government over the last seven years, resulting in massive under-development, widespread poverty and high levels of youth unemployment in the area.

The neglect, she explained, is because of the perceived support the people of Denkyira have for the New Patriotic Party, and as such “we pray that God will make Nana Akufo-Addo victorious.”

The obvious sign of neglect of Denkyira by the Mahama government, the Queen Mother said, can be seen in the deplorable nature of the road network in the area.

“The road from Cape Coast to Twifo Praso is terrible, and I’m sure Nana used the road when making his way here. The Twifo Praso-Ayaase-Dunkwa on Offin road is also bad. Likewise, the road from Praso to Kyekyewere is in a deplorable state. Again, from Obuasi to Dunkwa is also bad,” she outlined.

This, she noted, “is all because, we the people of Denkyira have sworn that we will always be supporters of an NPP government. This implies that if there is no NPP government in office, the people of Denkyira are not considered a part of this country.”

To change development, Nana Ama Ayensua Saara III stated that “what we have to do is to push him (Akufo-Addo) with prayers.”

Nana Akufo-Addo was accompanied to the Denkyira Hemaa’s palace by NPP Central Regional Chairman, Robert Kutin, and other NPP Central regional executives; Hon. Prof. Dominic Fobih, former Minister for Education and NPP MP for Assin South; Hon. Kwamena Bartels, former Minister in several portfolios under President Kufuor, and also a former Member of Parliament for Ablekuma North; Hon. Dr. Nana Ato Arthur, former Central Regional Minister, and MP for KEEA; Abraham Dwuma Odoom, NPP parliamentary candidate for Twifo Atti Morkwaa; Bright Wireko-Brobbey, NPP parliamentary candidate for Hemang Lower Denkyira; Barbara Ayisi, NPP parliamentary candidate for Cape Coast North; Lawrence Agyinsem, former NPP parliamentary candidate for Hemang Lower Denkyira, amongst others.
