Ghanair For Sale - Price: $1000

DONKOMI? MOST FOUL! ? NATIONWIDE PROPOSES TO BUY GHANAIR FOR $1,000
In the attempt to take over Ghana Airways at all cost with the support of some persons close to government, baby South African airline, Nationwide Airlines (PTY) Limited has proposed to provide an opening equity of $1,000 for a proposed joint venture with the Government of Ghana (GoG) for running a new company to take over the national airline.

Nationwide and the Ghana government signed a Memorandum of Understanding last year, under which a joint venture company is to be formed to take over Ghana Airways.

A report from World acclaimed auditing and management consultancy firm, Messrs PriceWaterHouse Coopers labeled ''STRICTLY PRIVATE AND CONFIDENTIAL'' has blown the cover over all the dubious attempts being made Nationwide Airlines to take over Ghana Airways.

The report confirms "The Independent's" held position that Nationwide?s proposal to take over Ghanair is bogus and frivolous as any cheap 419 scheme.

The report, among others, states that ''The company is to be funded with an opening equity of $1,000 and debt of $2m?''

It continues elsewhere that ''with Nationwide?s equity at only $1,000 and operations to be based on leasing aircraft, outsourcing of non-core functions etc, relative to GoG, the extent of Nationwide?s direct investment and therefore its risk, is very limited''.

The Transport Minister, Dr Richard Anane, is blamed for facilitating Nationwide?s bid and this damning indictment should compel Dr Anane to hand over his resignation to the President.
