Former Member of Parliament for Adansi Asokwa, Kobina Tahir Hammond, widely known as Kobina Tahir Hammond, has warned that Ghanaians will endure hardships if former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia is not elected President in the 2028 elections.
Speaking during Dr Bawumia’s campaign tour in the Ashanti Region on September 10, 2025, he expressed confidence in the former Vice President’s ability to lead the nation effectively.
He also dismissed claims that Dr Bawumia’s Muslim faith would prevent him from serving as President, urging voters to focus on leadership qualities and dedication rather than religious background when choosing the country’s next leader.

“Have you monitored Bawumia’s capabilities and hard work? It’s madness to say Bawumia is a Muslim, so he can’t be President. We (Ghanaians) will suffer if Bawumia is not elected as President,” he added.
