Ghanaians will soon regret voting against President John Mahama in the just ended elections, the 2016 campaign coordinator for the NDC , Kofi Adams has said.

The ruling NDC led by Mr Mahama were heavily trounced by the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) and its flagbearer now President-elect Nana Akufo-Addo in the December 7 polls.

The NPP has also taken a comfortable control of the legislature which was hitherto dominated by the NDC.

Speaking to Accra-based Asempa FM, Mr. Adams who has been blamed by some members of the NDC for the defeat, said it would have been in the interest of Ghana for the President to have been given a second term.

''Ghanaians will soon realize what it is that they have lost in President Mahama. The biggest mistake Ghanaians made was not to have re-elected President Mahama to continue for another term in office. Only God knows why things went the way they did. We left everything to him (God) to decide who would emerge victorious in the elections; but all I’m saying is that Ghanaians will remember President Mahama for the greater good that he ensured in Ghana. Just as we remember Jesus Christ for the good He did on earth, so shall we never forget President Mahama for what he’s done for Ghana,” he said.
