Ghana's High Commissioner To Sierra leone Opens Clinic

Ghana's High Commissioner to Sierra Leone, His Excellency Kabral Blay-Amihere, has commissioned a new dental clinic at Lungi International Airport in Sierra Leone.

The clinic named WAJIR DENTAL CLINIC was built by Ghana's Engineering Regiment-Sappers, currently serving as Ghanbatt 7 on United Nation's peacekeeping operations in Sierra Leone. It was financed by Ghanabatt 7 and a donation from the DOLLAR A MONTH FOR GHANA Fund of the Ghana High Commission and Ghana

The commissioning of the clinic coincided with a day's working visit paid by the Ghanaian High Commisioner last Tuesday.

H.E. Blay-Amihere commended the the Commanding Officer of Ghanbatt 7, Lt. Colonel Braimah Musah for spearheading the construction of the dental clinic and said the Wajir Clinic will always stand as a symbol of the friendship between the peoples of Ghana and Sierra Leone.

Colonel Mike Amuzu, the Commander of the Ghanaian Contingent in Sierra Leone said it has always been the policy of the Ghana Armed Forces to serve humanity everywhere duty called and promised Ghanaian troops serving In Sierra Leone would continue to offer humanitarian assistance to the Lungi community where they are based

The new clinic would serve not only Ghanaian troops but the entire community of the Lungi paramountcy.

Addressing a durbar of Ghanaian troops earlier in the day, H.E. Blay-Amihere said that the greatest lesson Ghanaian troops can take back home is the message that wars hinder social progress.

"The many conflicts raging in Africa cannot move our continent forward but backwards", he said.

H.E. Blay-Amihere also said that Ghanaian troops who have been going around the world keeping peace and stability for others owe it a duty to the motherland to maintain greater peace and stability in Ghana as a prec-copndition for sustainable development.

H.E. Blay-Amihere said the Kufuor administration was fully committed to the promotion of greater professionalism and welfare of officers and men of the Ghana Armed Forces and will do all to make the Ghana Armed Forces the best among the best..
