The (GNFS), Dr . Brown Gaisie, has described as unacceptable the disastrous natures of fire outbreaks being recorded in the country in recent times.

He cautioned that Regional fire officers who continue to record high cases of preventable fire outbreaks will be sanctioned.

Dr. Gaisie disclosed that several interventions are being put in place to curb the escalating situation.

He revealed that plans are far advanced to introduce Home fire certification, an integrated home fire prevention policy that would be fully enforced nationwide.

He made this known in Koforidua on Friday when he rounded up a three-day working tour of the Eastern region.

The Chief Fire Officer also announced that Fire Service personnel will soon be attached to Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) on road safety inspections.

Some staff of the Service in an interview with Ultimate News’ Kojo Ansah complained about their poor conditions of service.

But Dr. Gaisie assured that a committee has been set up to codify the conditions of service of personnel to migrate them to established Legislative Instrument (LI).
