Commerbank wins banks tennis competition

Accra (Greater Accra), 23 Nov. 1998 Ghana Commercial Bank beat Standard Chartered Bank 6-2 in the men's final to win the first Chartered Institute of Bankers National Tennis championship played at the Barclays Bank Club House lawn tennis court in Accra at the weekend. In the ladies event, Commercial Bank again defeated Merchant Bank 6- 2 to win the event. Other banks that took part in the one-day competition, organised by the Institute as part of its annual week celebrations, are Bank for Housing and Construction, and Bank of Ghana. Miss Mary Buako, Chief Executive of the Institute, presented prizes to the winners.
