Mfantseman NPP commends President Kufuor

Saltpond, May 17, GNA - The Executives of the Mfantseman East and West constituencies of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) have commended President J A Kufuor for nominating Mr Stephen Asamoah Boateng, MP for Mfantseman West for the position of a Cabinet Minister.

Mr. Asamoah Boateng, who was the Deputy Minister for the then Ministry of Tourism and Modernisation of the Capital City, was named as Minister Designate for Local Government, Rural Development and Environment in a cabinet reshuffle announced by the President about two weeks ago.

Mr. James Dennis Ehuren, Mfantseman West Chairman of the Party and spokesman for the Executives, said they felt highly elated to be associated with the success of the MP from a Deputy Minister to a Minister Designate. Mr. Ehuren assured the President that the Minister Designate would receive the full support and cooperation of the party executives in the two constituencies in the discharge of his duties. The NPP Executives congratulated the MP and expressed the hope that Parliament would approve his nomination. 17 May 06
