Work hard to improve standards of Ghanaians

Wamfie (B/A), March 8, GNA- Mr. Kwaku Agyeman Manu, Deputy Minister of Finance and Economic Planning, at the weekend cautioned members and supporters of the NPP against acquiring easy money for the electioneering campaigns.

"There will be no easy money for distribution for the election campaign", he said saying what we need to do is to abide by the party's philosophy to work hard and be committed to its goal in seeking an improvement in the living standards of all Ghanaians.

The Deputy Minister was addressing a fund raising dinner dance organized by the Dormaa East constituency branch of the NPP at Wamfie. He urged the party's members and supporters to discard the erroneous impression that they had not benefited from the success of the party in spite of their contributions.

"Let's not just expect for contracts, monies with which to expand our businesses or free money but to continue to contribute in diverse ways for the party's development and the country's sound financial standing.

Mr. Agyeman Manu advised them to shelve any differences among them and unite so that they could forge ahead with a united front to enable the party to regain power in December.

"Our objective is to win again so that we can continue with our good works for all Ghanaians", he said.

The Deputy Minister called on them to sacrifice to build the party since if NPP failed, there would be no future for the nation.

Professor Christopher Ameyaw-Akumfi, Minister of Railways, Ports and Harbours, expressed concern about squabbles and disputes among members of the party in many constituencies.

He appealed to executives to resolve such disputes to ensure the development of the party.

Nana Kwadwo Seinti, Brong Ahafo Regional Minister noted that the victory of the party in next December's elections depended on the availability of resources to support the electioneering campaigns. He called on supporters and members of the party to contribute generously to raise funds to support the party's programmes and activities at all levels.

The Regional Minister expressed dissatisfaction with negative tendencies like hatred, rancour, backbiting and selfishness within the party, which he said impeded the development of the country. He called for peace, love and mutual understanding among the people.

Mr. Kwadwo Yeboah-Fordjour, Regional Chairman, said there had been significant improvement in the living conditions of Ghanaians during the three years rule of the NPP government.

He stressed that this year's elections were crucial in the political history of the country and urged all eligible persons to register when the voters' register is re-opened next week.

NPP will be victorious in the elections, he added and called on members and supporters of the party to adopt pragmatic strategies in the electioneering campaigns to enable the party to chalk success. Present were Mr. Stephen Ntim, First Vice Chairman of the party, Mr. Yaw Asiedu-Mensah, MP for Dormaa West, Mr. Stephen Adomah-Yeboah, MP for Dormaa East and DCEs.
