Osei Tutu held Adusah Poku to tie-break

The Koforidua Lawn Tennis Club Easter Tennis Cannival opens at their newly renovated 20 million cedis Koforidua Tennis court on Wednesday night .

In the formal opening match, Osei Tutu shocked the spectators when he mounted a full attack on the much fancied Adusah Poku and led the way by 4-0.

Adusah fought back and levelled up at 5-5 tie-break, but the game had to be abandoned midway the tournament when part of the flood lights on the court went off and made visibility poor.

The match was therefore rescheduled for Thursday afternoon.

In all, over 60 members of the Club grouped in Veterans, Socials and Tops would be participating in the six-day tournament expected to end on Easter Monday .

In a speech, the Chairman of the Club , Mr. John Afful, expressed the hope that the renovations on the court would enhance the performance of the members and enable them to build the necessary confidence to perform better in future competitions.
