Fire guts Sammy Kuffour's office

The seven storey office property of ex-Ghana defender, Samuel Osei Kuffour near Kwame Nkrumah Circle overhead caught fire around 8am on Tuesday.

The fire completely gutted the third floor which houses Sikkim Manipal University.

Eye witnesses say it took the Ghana National Fire Service close to an hour to douse the fire completely.

According to the Public Relations Officer of the Ghana National Fire Service, Billy Anaglatey, his outfit was swift to respond to the emergency, but faced difficulties in getting access to the third floor.

Although Mr. Anaglatey could not give details regarding how the fire started he assured of prompt investigations.

Management of the university has so far remained tight lipped on how the fire started.

“There were no casualties recorded but properties worth millions of cedis have been lost,” Mr Anaglatey revealed.
