Fire guts Accra-bound STC bus

Residents traveling from Nkwanta to Accra in an STC bus with registration number GC 5099 Z, narrowly escaped death after the bus caught fire in the early hours of Saturday, 13th January, 2018.

It is unclear what caused the fire which burnt completely the STC bus beyond recognition.

The incident occurred between Kpeve and Peki.

Passengers onboard claim the fire started from the dashboard of the vehicle and quickly spread to other portions of the car.

Unfortunately, a fire extinguisher on the bus failed to work, whereas an attempt by the passengers and driver to put out the fire with sand also failed leading to the fire 'consuming' the entire bus.

Though no life was lost, luggage and some vital belongings of the passengers perished in the fire.
