A final-year student at Wa TI Ahmadiyya Senior High School (Wa AMASS), Iddrisu Ibrahim, known as "Lincoln," is in critical condition at the Wa Regional Hospital after being stabbed during a confrontation with a fellow student on Tuesday, July 22, 2025.
According to citinewsroom.com, eyewitnesses reported that the altercation involved Lincoln, an Agricultural Science student from Bulenga, and Hafis, also known as "Baayaawa," a General Arts student from Bawku.
Both are final-year students.
The incident reportedly began when Lincoln allegedly recorded a video of Hafis without his consent.
Hafis confronted Lincoln, demanding the video be deleted.
When Lincoln reportedly refused, Hafis allegedly threatened to stab him.
Witnesses stated that Lincoln dismissed the threat, even daring Hafis to proceed.
Hafis, reportedly enraged, then pulled out a knife and stabbed Lincoln in the rib and stomach.
He attempted to flee the scene, but news of the stabbing quickly spread across campus.
A female eyewitness recounted the harrowing moment, stating, "When Lincoln came out, the knife was still stuck in him. Some students removed it before rushing him to the hospital."
Despite his severe injuries, Lincoln reportedly managed to stagger towards the school library before collapsing.
He is now receiving treatment at Wa Regional Hospital, where medical staff have described his condition as critical but stable.
A group of students reportedly gathered, possibly intending to retaliate, but police quickly arrived at the scene, preventing further violence.
Hafis was arrested and remains in police custody as investigations proceed.
Police inquiries into the incident are ongoing.
School authorities have yet to release an official statement, but security on campus has been visibly reinforced to prevent any further escalation.
