Use Easter to renew yourselves -Pastor

Tema, April 14, GNA - The Sakumono Hope Presbyterian Church, has held a church service to mark the Crucifixion of Jesus Christ with a call on Christians to use the occasion to renew themselves for the service of God.

Preaching the sermon, the Rev. Dr David N.A Kpobi, Ga Presbytery Chairman, noted that the kind of people, who arrested and crucified Jesus Christ reflects on the kind of people we have in the world and mentioned politicians, blackmailers, sycophants and wicked people as some of the examples.

He likened those, who subjected Jesus Christ to suffer on the cross to those, who caused mayhem in Rwanda, Liberia, Congo and Dagbon, saying that, this character we inherited has not changed and it's only the death of Christ, which will change that.

He also mentioned faultfinding, which still occurred in our society, the Church, home, work place and even among friends, which were used to tarnish the image of people.

According to the Rev Minister, in spite of the bad things, there were also the women, who sympathized with Jesus Christ hanging on the cross and this signified that in spite of the evil around us, there was also goodness in us, which should be used to suppress the evil.

"As Christians we don't have to let the evil destroy us for, if it happens the death of Christ will be in vain, he said".
