Private legal practitioner, Moses Foh-Amoaning, has lambasted Ghanaian journalists for failing to question President John Dramani Mahama on issues relating to Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) rights during his recent media encounter.
According to him, he believes the journalists were either cowards who feared the president, or their reluctance to ask about the controversial subject stemmed from personal affiliations with the LGBT community.
In a news card shared by Oyerapa Radio on September 15, 2025, Foh-Amoaning is quoted as saying during an interview, "Ghanaian journalists are cowards. Why didn't anyone ask President Mahama about the LGBT Bill during the media encounter? Were they afraid, or they're part of the LGBT family?"
LIVESTREAMED: Media encounter with President John Dramani Mahama
President John Dramani Mahama, on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, held his first media encounter since assuming office nearly nine months ago.
At the event, the president addressed several national issues. One of the key highlights was illegal mining (galamsey).
While acknowledging its devastating impact, Mahama stressed that the conditions were not yet ripe for declaring a state of emergency despite his party, while in opposition, having previously called for such a measure.
