Accra, Feb 23, GNA - Jumus Boxing Promotions, one of the biggest promotions syndicate in the country is set to give boxing fans a holiday package on March 6, as the nation celebrates her 47th Independence Anniversary.

The syndicate, which has gained the nod from the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) to stage an International World Boxing Council (WBC) title fight has lined up four other supporting bouts for the event to be held at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Ike Quartey, Manager of Jumus Promotions told the GNA Sports that the syndicate has completed arrangements with the GBA on the fight and are now concentrating on seeking funding to support the promotion.

Two of Ghana's finest boxers, Malik Jabir and Osmanu Akaba will mount the stage to battle for the World Boxing Council (WBC) International Featherweight Title, which will serve as the main bout for the night. Both boxers have for the past years provided boxing fans with much excitement with their skill in the art and the pairing of the two for the title is an indication that fans will be given their monies worth come March 6.

Others boxers on the bill are, Ben Odamten and Ali Alabi who will vie for the National Featherweight title.

Braimah Kamoko popularly known as "Bukom Banku" will sort things out with Olubi Segerim from Benin in a ten round Middleweight contest whilst Osmanu Yahaya and Agoe Ashong will engage in a ten round Welterweight contest, with Philip Kotey also facing Jamiru Tyson in another Welterweight contest.

Ike Quartey said his outfit is seeking support from companies and corporate organisations and urged them to show keen interest in the tournament to ensure a successful hosting of the event.
