Let us pay more attention to children - Chief State Attorney

Bolgatanga, Oct. 12, GNA - Mr Samuel Amoah Asirifi, Chief State Attorney in Upper East Region, has stressed the need to strengthen and adequately resource institutions and organizations involved in promoting the development of children to enable them discharge their duties efficiently and effectively.

He appealed to Government and other stakeholders to pay more attention to the growth and development of children to enable the country have responsible leaders to steer the affairs in future.

Mr Asirifi made the call in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Bolgatanga on Wednesday at a breakfast meeting organised by the Upper East Regional Directorate of Department of Children to deliberate on issues affecting children.

He expressed concern about children who were supposed to be in school to prepare for their future being sent to work in the mines, cocoa farms and the streets.

Mr Asirifi asked parents to pay more attention to their children's education, stressing that the best legacy they could bequeath to their children was education.
