Vipers confirm superiority over Dwarfs

Cape Coast, Sept 7, GNA - Cape Coast Venomous Vipers confirmed their superiority over their city rivals Ebusua Dwarfs when they pipped them 1-0 in a special soccer match played at Robert Mensah Stadium as part of activities to mark the Oguaa Fetu Afahy festival. Vipers also beat Dwarfs 2-1 to commemorate the death of late Alhaji Muniru Arafat, former Cape Coast Municipal Chief Executive in March 2006.

The achievements of Vipers can be attributed to the reconstituted executives of the Club headed by Mr Kofi Ackah-Yensu and Mr Abeka Turkson, a business tycoon.

Vipers who paraded new players exhibited their youthful exuberance as they the game strongly and forced Dwarfs to defend most of the time during most part of the match.

After a goalless first half, Vipers took absolute command of the game on resumption of the second half as they kept the Dwarfs vital area boiling with short and accurate passes.

It therefore came as no surprise when in the 67th minute, a two-man move paved the way for unmarked midfielder, Joseph Adade to score the only goal of the match in the 67th minute.

In the dying minutes of the match, Dwarfs made frantic efforts to find the equalizer but try as they did they could not find the net till the final whistle.
