A local photographer has spoken out about his devastating experience after torrential rains in Accra completely flooded his studio, destroying premium photography and production equipment valued at over GH¢400,000.

The downpour, which swept through the capital yesterday, left a trail of structural damage and submerged several business districts.

Sharing his ordeal on X on June 4, 2026, the distressed business owner shared a video detailing the aftermath of the disaster.

The viral footage captures a room entirely filled with high-end, waterlogged gear including cameras, lighting rigs, and editing setups rendered completely useless by the floodwaters.

Visibly shaken by the sudden loss of his livelihood, the creator explained the grueling journey it took to build his studio, expressing deep uncertainty about his professional future.

“I honestly don’t know how to come back from this," he stated in the video.

"It took me eight years to acquire all these things,” he lamented.

The photographer's ordeal reflects a recurring crisis for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the capital, which regularly bear the financial brunt of inadequate drainage systems during the peak rainy season.

The video has sparked a chain of reactions online.
