Edumanu sex tape: Headmaster not sacked but interdicted – GES

A decision on Robert Sepey will be known in the disciplinary committee A decision on Robert Sepey will be known in the disciplinary committee

Robert Sepey, the headmaster in the center of a leaked sex tape at Breman Edumanu in the Central Region, has not been sacked, the Ghana Education Service (GES) has clarified.

This comes barely a day after a report sighted by 3news.com stated clearly that Mr Sepey, headmaster of Breman Edumanu D/A Basic School, has been relieved of his position.

The report signed by the Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa District Director of Education, Isaac Godwin Kwasi Acquah-Arhin, said Mr Sepey was relieved of his post after he admitted engaging in sex with Priscilla Tettey, a final year student of Odoben Senior High School.

They both consented to record the video, from an interrogation of the student and the headmaster, as they are long-time lovers.

In an interview on TV3’s News 360 on Thursday, the Public Relations Officer of GES, Cassandra Twum Ampofo, said teachers are not sacked in that manner.

“The headmaster has not been sacked,” she stressed.

She said a two-member disciplinary committee set up to investigate the issue will come out with its findings to determine the punitive action to be taken against the headmaster.

Ms Twum Ampofo confirmed that the headmaster turned himself in to the police on Thursday.

But she stressed that he will be on interdiction until investigations are completed.
