Actress Lydia Forson – one of the key organisers of the Dumsor vigil - has left the shores of Ghana hours before the much touted event kicks off.
Forson is reported to be in London via Nigeria to see to her personal business.
Popular musician Sarkodie has also deserted the vigil for the USA to shoot a music video with popular US-based artiste Ace Hood.
A group of Ghanaian celebrities being led by actress Yvonne Nelson is spearheading the #Dumsormuststop vigil to compel the John Mahama-led administration to find immediate solution to the incessant blackout facing Ghana.
One of the organisers DKB confirmed Forson’s absence but said the vigil will still go on as scheduled.
“Nothing has changed and we have their [Sarkodie and Forson] blessings,” the comedian said on Morning Zoo on Starr FM, Saturday.
He said the vigil kicks off at 4pm from the Legon bridge and will end around 6.30pm at the green lawn of the Tetteh Quarshie Roundabout in Accra.
