Korea Business Delegation Calls On Regional Minister

A three-member delegation from Bogo Company in South Korea on Wednesday paid a courtesy call on the Ashanti Regional Minister, Mr S.K. Boafo in Kumasi.

The delegation led by the President of the company, Mr Frank Lee, is in Kumasi to explore investment avenues in the region, following the recent visit of Mr Boafo to Korea.

Mr Lee said his company is interested in the garment and textile industry and is prepared to invest in the country to boost the already cordial economic co-operation between Korea and Ghana.

He commended Mr Boafo for his effort at marketing the Ashanti Region to the international community as a means of attracting investors and expressed the hope that his visit would yield fruitful results.

Welcoming the Koreans, Mr. Boafo assured them of the government's commitment to embark on sound economic policies and promote rule of law as a means of attracting foreign investment to create jobs and improve the economy.

The Regional Co-ordinating Council has drawn an elaborate programme to enable the delegation visit business, mining and timber industries in the region.

The delegation later paid a courtesy call on the Kumasi Metropolitan Chief Executive, Mr Maxwell Kofi Jumah at his office.

Mr Jumah said Kumasi is ready to receive genuine investors and pledged the assembly's support to the delegation.

He hoped the delegation would take advantage of numerous investment opportunities existing in the metropolis to invest.
