Rawlings hands over last car to Kufuor government

There is a popular saying that “wokyi Okwaduo a woknfo na mmirikatuo”. This literally translates that if even you hate the monkey you have to appreciate its speed.

This common Akan trite is lost on the current administration vis-a-vis the Ex-President J.J Rawlings. So although there was a veiled promise to set a precedent in treating ex-President Rawlings decently, this has not been the case. The former Head of State who handed over the reigns of government to the Kufuor administration has had embarrassment, harassment and verbal attacks as his breakfast, lunch and dinner.

So after a great show of seeking to humiliate him, ex-President has no car from the state for his personal use, he returned his official car to the Kufuor administration. Infact after taking what the Green-Street has allocated to him, in terms of the vehicles at his disposal Ex-President Rawlings on Friday 23rd August handed over his only official car at the Chief of Staff’s office leaving no official car at his disposal.

One does not know whether the ex-Head of State could see this looming embarrassment coming his way and therefore imported the Toyota Land-cruiser cars which forms the theme of his interrogations at the BNI.

This is at a time when some NPP Ministers and other NPP officials are benefiting from the Hand-over process from the NDC to the NPP. Lets live long to see the treatment that will be meted out to President Kufuor when he becomes an Ex.
