Court stops outdooring of new Bolga Chief

The Upper East regional Police Command has secured an injunction against the planned outdooring of the newly enskinned Paramount Chief of Bolgatanga.

Joseph Apakre Nyaaba was enskinned on Wednesday by a rival faction in the protracted chieftaincy dispute.

The Family of the late Chief is also planning to install his successor today, Friday May 8,2015, in clear defiance of a Security Council order.

The Upper West regional crime officer Superintendent Alex Asamoah Frimpong tells Starr News the police are on high alert to avert any eventualities.

“We are aware that the various factions are planning to outdoor their own chief at the same time and we all know what can happen if this is allowed to stay.

“We realised that if we don’t step in to streamline things, the peace in the area will be breached.

“So with the regional security council and the police working together, we went to the court to secure a court order restraining Mr. Joseph Apakre not to outdoor himself as chief of Bolga,” he said.
