Counsel from Nduom to Mahama over economic crisis

Founder of the Progressive People’s Party Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom has offered some pieces of advice to President John Dramani Mahama in the face of economic crisis the country seems to find itself in.

The 2008 and 2012 Presidential Candidate admitted that the recent directives by the Central Bank to arrest the fall of the Cedi puts the chunk of responsibility on government.

Dr Nduom, therefore, advised that: “Our President must not repeat certain statements…so that we can take the situation seriously and believe that we must all make sacrifices to help.”

He cited the president’s comments such as “Ghana is not in economic crisis”, “We must look at the basic structure of our economy” and the Cedi depreciation not caused by national decisions as demotivating to well-meaning persons ready to help.

“Our President must gather the courage to rise and say ‘enough’ and rally us all to make sacrifices and contain any potential backlash from our trading partners,” Dr Nduom stated in post on his Facebook page on Monday, February 17, 2014.
