According to the Director, the 2016 to 2020 plan, which serves as a working document that binds the Assembly to implement developmental policies and programmes has been sanctioned by the Central Regional Coordinating Council and National Development Planning Commission.

Nana Antwi- Boasiako made this known at the Town Hall meeting at Agona Swedru.

The meeting was organised by the Progressive Excellence Youth Organization, a non- governmental organisation based in Komenda Edina Eguafo Abirim and sponsored by World Bank and SNV of Netherlands.

It was attended by assembly members, heads of department, traders, market women, civil organisations, artisans and others.

He said the assembly has made it clear to all private and government organisations putting up buildings to make them accessible to the People With Disability.

He those who refuse to comply would not be granted building permits.

Mr Wilfred Sarsah, National Coordinator of Progressive Excellence Youth Organisation called on Ghanaians to demand accountability from the Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs).

He said the monies given to the Assemblies are derived from huge taxes being paid to the government by workers and private enterprises and grants from outside the country.

Mr Sarsah said the aimed of the meeting was to educate citizens to know the need to demand accountability from the district assemblies.

He said the meeting also served as a platform for the citizens to apply the knowledge they have learnt to demand accountability from the metropolitan, municipal and district assemblies operations.

He stated his organisation has selected 120 volunteers in the Agona West to educate the citizenry on the need to know their rights to demand accountability from the Assembly.

He advised political party leaders to remain focus without bias to enhance the development agenda of the country.

Mr Sarsah exhorted the MMDCEs, Community and opinion leaders to remain focus on developmental programmes and not allow partisan politics to override them.
