Chancellor of the Pontifical Academy of Sciences and Social Sciences, Cardinal Peter Appiah Turkson, has urged ministers, cabinet members, and key stakeholders in Ghana to fully support President John Mahama in his efforts to achieve the government’s reset agenda.
Speaking on TV3’s Hot Issues on July 13, 2025, Cardinal Turkson stated that the President cannot achieve the reset vision alone.
He stressed that all members of government and society must work together in unity to ensure its success.
“The President does not do this alone. This reset, he can talk about it, and he has the role to formulate it for the nation, but the realisation and achievement cannot be the task of only the President,” he said.
Cardinal Turkson explained that everyone, including religious leaders, must get involved for the reset agenda to materialise.
“It has to be the task of the President, his ministers, the Cabinet, and all of us, pastors, ministers, and every citizen,” he indicated.
He emphasised the importance of solidarity within government leadership, warning that disunity among ministers could derail progress.
“You cannot have ministers who are on a path which is dissonant to the path of the President. Communion and solidarity are very crucial for successful leadership,” he noted.
Cardinal Turkson concluded by calling for a renewed national mindset and leadership committed to the long-term growth and transformation of the country.
