Sarpei joins Stars tonight

Hans Adu Sarpei will leave for Tunis tonight to join the Black Stars squad preparing for this month?s African Cup of Nations.

The defender for the German Budersliiga side Wolfsburg, who last played for the national team three years ago, was given a late call by Ghana coach Ratomir Dujkovic.

The Wolfsburg defender?s call up has been necessitated by a facial injury to left-full-back, Emmanuel Pappoe.

Pappoe is still in the team?s camp.

Also leaving tonight from Accra are Godwin Attram, Baba Adamu Armando and Louis Agyemang.

The trio join defender Samuel Osei Kuffour and skipper Stephen Appiah, both of whom left Ghana last night, to beat coach Ratomir Dujkovic?s January 5 deadline for reporting to the training camp.

Both Armando Agyemang who were on the coach Ratomir Dujkovic's stand by list got calls ups after injuries to Michael Essien and Sulley Muntari.

The pair received their travel visas yesterday.

The arrival of the four players will boost the team?s preparations as they fine tune for their first friendly in the North African training tour.

The Stars play the Carthage Eagles of Tunisia on January 15 and are still considering the possibility of another game against the Hawks of Togo.
