Tarkwa MP donates cement for rehabilitation of school

Tarkwa (W/R) Sept. 6 GNA- Mrs Eugenia Gifty Kusi, Member of Parliament (MP) for Tarkwa-Nsuaem on Friday presented 50 bags of cement worth more than three million cedis for the rehabilitation of the six classroom block of the Tarkwa John Taylor memorial Junior Secondary School.

The cement was purchased from the MP's share of the common fund.

Mr. Robert Affum-Fianko, Assembly member for Cyinede received the cement on behalf of the community and thanked Mrs Kusi for the gesture.

At another ceremony, Mrs Kusi presented ten bags of cement and a packet of roofing sheets to the Tarkwa Prisons for the rehabilitation of a recreational shed for the inmates.

Mr John Tawiah, Assistant Director in -charge of the Prisons received the items and said they would be put to good use.

He complained that the only vehicle for the Prisons broke-down long ago and this has been hampering their operations.

He also mentioned accommodation as one of the major problems facing officers of the service. 06 Sept. 03
