'Black Star Square' edifice develops deep cracks

The Black Star square where most national events including, the annual Independence Day celebration is held is literally a time bomb and a disaster in waiting.

Starr News investigation has uncovered that the 30,000 seater capacity edifice has developed massive cracks which can fall apart with the slightest pressure barring any immediate intervention.

Starr News’ Papisdaff Abdullah who has been monitoring developments at the square reports that workers of the monument are aware of the situation and are deeply worried about it.

Hawkers and pedestrians who use the premises as a resting place and a hideout from the scorching sun of Accra during the day said they fear the building will collapse any time soon.
