With 5 days to the general elections, persons representing the various political parties at polling centers across the country are being called upon to remain resolute in the fight for a free, fair and transparent election come December 7.

The Let My Vote Count Alliance is calling on agents of the various political parties contesting the elections to resist the temptation to compromise their positions on ensuring credible elections next Wednesday.

According to convener of the group David Asante, it is imperative for polling agents to help ensure the integrity of this year’s polls by rejecting monies that will be offered to them by persons who are bent on manipulating the system to favour particular parties and candidates.

“…We are in the days of bribe taking and bribe giving. We are humbly and passionately appealing to political party agents, do not accept any bribe. They will come, but stand firm. Hold your head up high and protect the integrity and sanctity of our election process…”, he said

Ghana will be heading to the polls on December 7 to elect a government what will lead the country for the next four years.

A special voting process for persons who will be playing key roles on election day has however been plagued with controversies and confusion in several parts of the country. The Electoral Commission is expected to conduct another process for persons who were unable to participate in the special voting exercise on Thursday.
