The increasing momentum of Vice President and Flagbearer of the NPP, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, took another level Sunday when two Christian congregations gave him a rousing reception.
Dr. Bawumia, who is continuing his campaign tour in the Greater Accra Region, was in the Weija Constituency on Sunday, and being a day of worship, he paid three congregations, the Holiness Pentecostal Church, New Gbawe, Church of Pentecost, Mandela Assembly, New Weija, Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Jerusalem Assembly and the Church of Pentecost, Kasoa Area, Ayigbe Town.
All the congregations offered Dr. Bawumia a rousing reception with songs of praise and special prayers.
At the Holiness Pentecostal Church, the Head Pastor prayed for the Lord to "remember his son (Dr. Bawumia) and let what he has ordained for him come to pass,".
At the Church of Pentecost, Mandela Assembly, the choir welcomed Dr. Bawumia with special songs thanking the Lord for the life of Dr. Bawumia, amidst chants of "our incoming president."
Speaking at the various congregations, Dr. Bawumia underlined the significance of God's will in everything, particularly in his endeavour to seek to lead the country.
"Unless the Lord build the house, we will labour in vain. This is why I put God first in everything I do, because as Jesus Christ said, with God, all things are possible," Dr. Bawumia said, underscoring his belief in God's power.
"I believe that with God's hands in what we are doing, things will be possible, that is why my campaign slogan is it is possible."
Dr. Bawumia called for prayers for a peaceful election to preserve the serenity of the country.
"This election is very important for the future of our country. But the most important is the peace of this country," he said.
"So it is important for all of us to run our campaign in a manner that will preserve the peace of this country. We also need the prayers of all of you; the pastors and all of you for the peace of this country."
"I also request the prayers of all of you, for special favours from the Lord so that victory will be ours, myself and Jerry, the parliamentary candidate."
