President John Dramani Mahama is set to meet with key stakeholders to deliberate on a decisive course of action against officials culpable of financial losses to the state, as consistently uncovered during Public Accounts Committee (PAC) briefings on October 20, 2025.
Auditor-General Johnson Akuamoah Asiedu highlighted the planned discussions in an interview with TV3 on October 9, 2025, noting the president's commitment to moving beyond rhetoric.
"It's been a challenge for a long time. I think the president has stepped in, you know, as the head of state, just to take action. Instead of just talking, and talking…," the Auditor-General noted.

The meeting, which is expected to include the Auditor-General, the Attorney General (AG), and the Chief Justice, and relevant stakeholders, aims to establish a lasting solution to the "canker" of financial irregularities.
While the Auditor-General stated he did not know the full content of the agenda, as the president is the convener, he expressed strong support for the initiative.
"I believe that the president is desirous of bringing this canker to an end," he said.
Reacting to President John Dramani Mahama's call to expedite action and hold offenders accountable, potentially leading to jail terms (referencing the Nsawam Prisons), Asiedu affirmed that the laws are already in place.
"… our laws establish the punishment for every offense… If you are stealing state money... I believe there are a lot of laws that will determine where you go from there. And one of the destinations is in Nsawam, as His Excellency mentioned," he explained.
The Auditor-General stressed that decisive action would serve as a powerful deterrent.
