A medical technician with the Ambulance Service, Jafar Abdulai, has stated that about 15 people suffered sudden health complications and had to be rushed to health facilities for medical care.
He explained that these individuals had attended the Dɔte Yie (final funeral rites) of the late Asantehemaa, Nana Ama Konadu Yiadom III, which took place from Monday, September 15, to Thursday, September 18, 2025.

The affected persons are reported to have been transported to the Manhyia Government Hospital and the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi for emergency care.
According to a report by channelonenewsonline.com on September 19, 2025, the Ambulance Service indicated that the health complications suffered by the affected individuals could have resulted from fatigue and heat exhaustion; causing them to collapse.
Jafar Abdulai, who was assigned to the ceremony and is also the Station Manager at Baba Yara Sports Stadium, said the prompt response of health officials ensured that no lives were lost.
Meanwhile, the Asantehemaa, Nana Konadu Yiadom III, has been laid to rest.
Her Dɔte Yie (final funeral rites) was attended by top government officials, including President John Dramani Mahama, who was present to mourn with the Asantehene.
