Former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has described his wife, Rebecca Akufo-Addo, as a strong pillar in his life, stating that she has been “like a rock” to him over the years.

Speaking about their relationship at a private event in a video sighted by GhanaWeb, the former president said he considers himself fortunate to have reunited with Rebecca at a difficult time in his life.

According to him, those moments have shaped the journey they have shared for more than three decades.

“I've been very lucky, very lucky, I want to repeat it, very lucky that at a time of difficulties … I met Rebecca Griffith Randolph again, and that is some 30 years ago, and we have been together since then,” he said.

Akufo-Addo said that their relationship has endured the ups and downs of life, with Rebecca providing constant support.

“She has been like a rock for me. Like all people who are together, we have our issues, especially on my side,” he added.

Despite the occasional challenges, Akufo-Addo noted that his wife has remained a dependable partner and a devoted mother to their children.

“But as all the men know in this room, there are no issues. She's been a wonderful companion and an exceptional mother to my five children,” he stated.
