Akufo-Addo is the least contributor to Dagbon's peace - A.B.A. Fuseini

MP for Sagnarigu, Alhassan Bashir Fuseini, has maintained that President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo contributed barely anything to the peace currently enjoyed in Dagbon.

In his words, when it comes to the peace in Dagbon, “Akufo-Addo is the least contributor. He did nothing.”

Addressing journalists after a minority boycott of the SONA debate Monday, he accused Akufo-Addo of freeing some suspects who were indicted in the killing of the Ya Na when he was Attorney General.

“...what did he do? It was this same Akufo-Addo who freed the suspects when he was Attorney General.”

According to the MP, it was the NDC, under late President Mills’ regime that begun looking for a solution to a distressed Dagbon where about 18 people were arrested and arraigned before court.

“That happened under the NDC under Prez Mills. President Mahma came to continue. He ensured the building of the palaces were done and I was the Dep Minister of the region, I know it for a fact.”

“Without the the NDC there would never have been a solution.”

He reiterated that the President was only fortunate to witness a rather calm Dagbon when he became President.”

“He (Akufo-Addo) was just lucky that at the tail end of the peace process he became president and so he took credit for it.” A.B.A. Fuseini said.

He, however, credited former President John Agyekum Kufuor for creating a team of Chiefs on the journey to peace in Dagbon.

“You can credit prez Kufuor for stating something on the journey to peace.”
