President-elect Nana Akufo-Addo, many argue, won the election by campaigning on lofty promises, that will be hard to deliver for Ghanaians as he takes over government.

One of President-elect Nana Akufo-Addo’s policy priorities will be to build hundreds of new factories and secure the environment for massive industrialization, which is expected to open up opportunities for the private sector and foreign investors.

But critics dispute Akufo-Addo’s ability to deliver on his key economic promises overnight as they believe he will still be challenged by the International Monetary Fund’s(IMF) targets that will reflect “a tight fiscal picture”

But Deputy Communications Director of the NPP, and Member of Parliament-elect for Lawra, Anthony Karbo said in an interview with Accra-based Joy FM that the economic environment won’t restrain Akufo-Addo in delivering on what many say is the grandiose promises of the President-elect.

“This is what we hope and we believe that the Almighty God gives the next President the will, determination and courage to carry through these promises, because these promises are quiet important if we want to get out of the current economic situation that we find ourselves.

“…We’ve indicated that many of these promises will be captured in the first budget and we are also quiet clear that the kind of mandate that has been given to Nana Akufo-Addo and with the help of the party and then the entire country he’s going to form a team of competent Ghanaians qualified to deliver this particular mandate.”
