Akufo-Addo has no 'shame' – Omane Boamah

Communications minister Dr Edward Omane Boamah has described the 2016 flagbearer of the main opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akufo-Addo, as a man with no “shame”.

“Nana Akuffo Addo has no shame. He should be grateful to the security Agencies for ensuring sanity within the ranks of the New Patriotic Party in Bolga, Accra and across the country.

“I urge the security agencies to continue with their work professionally, as they have exhibited over the period,” Dr Boamah posted on his Facebook wall immediately after Akufo-Addo addressed developments in the opposition party at its headquarters in Accra Friday.

The comments follow claims by the opposition leader that the party will hold President John Mahama to his words that the killers of the NPP’s Upper East regional chairman Adams Mahama will face justice.

“I acknowledge and appreciate the sentiments expressed by the President of the Republic with the promise that justice will be done to Chairman Adams and we intend to hold him to that promise. It is unfortunate, but true, that criminal activities with political undertones in this country have tended not to be resolved satisfactorily,” Akufo Addo stated.

The NPP is in a state of confusion as seven regional branches have called for the resignation of its national chairman Paul Afoko and general secretary Kwabena Agyepong.

The two executives are being accused of masterminding division in the party.
